Definition
破旧 (pò jiù) describes objects that are old and worn out, often from age and use — like shabby furniture or a dilapidated building. Its sibling 破 (pò, HSK4) is broader, meaning 'broken, damaged' without implying age (e.g. a broken glass). Use 破旧 when the shabbiness comes from age, not just damage.
