程度 (chéng dù) means 'degree, level, extent' and is used for abstract qualities (e.g., language level, seriousness). Unlike 度 (dù), which is often a suffix (温度, 速度) or a measure word, 程度 is a standalone noun that pairs with 高/低 to describe intensity.
