经受 (jīng shòu) means to undergo or withstand something challenging (hardship, pressure, test) and often implies coming through it. It differs from 忍受 (rěn shòu), which focuses on patiently bearing pain or discomfort, and from 遭受 (zāo shòu), which emphasizes suffering a loss or misfortune (often passive). 经受 is commonly used with 住 (经受住) to indicate successful endurance.
