Definition
落 (là) means 'to leave out or miss' when counting, writing, or listing — it's about accidentally omitting something that should be there. Unlike 省 (shěng) or 省略 (shěng lüè), which mean 'to omit' intentionally, 落 is always unintentional. It's also different from 不见 (bù jiàn) 'to disappear' and 失踪 (shī zōng) 'to go missing', which describe things becoming lost or vanishing, not being skipped over.
