Definition
观测 (guān cè) means 'to observe and measure' using instruments or scientific methods, as in weather stations or satellite monitoring. It is more specific than 观察 (guān chá), which is general watching without measurement, and overlaps with 测量 (cè liáng) but emphasizes observation alongside measurement.
