Definition
跑 (pǎo) means 'to run' as a general action, and also 'to run away, to escape'. For jogging or running as exercise, use the compound 跑步 (pǎo bù). For a more formal sense of fleeing (e.g., from danger), use 逃 (táo) or 逃跑 (táo pǎo).
