邪恶 (xié'è) means 'evil, wicked, sinister' and is the typical word for moral evil. Unlike 恶 (è), which is used in many general compounds (恶意, 恶习), 邪恶 is reserved for serious moral or supernatural contexts. It differs from 邪 (xié) 'demonic/abnormal' and 凶恶 (xiōng'è) 'fierce/ferocious' in nuance.
