预测 (yù cè) means 'to forecast/predict' based on analysis or data, like weather or market trends. It is more formal and evidence-based than 预料 (yù liào 'to anticipate'), which is more about personal expectation. 预报 (yù bào) is specifically for official public forecasts (weather, earthquakes), while 预测 is broader.
