吞并 (tūn bìng) — to annex, to take over (territory, companies, etc.)

Definition

吞并 (tūnbìng) means to swallow up and absorb — typically a country annexing territory or a large company absorbing a smaller rival. Stronger than 合并: it implies the dominant party takes the other over, usually against its will.
