Definition
同流合污 is a derogatory chengyu (four-character idiom) meaning 'to follow the bad crowd and wallow in filth together'. Its literal translation 'wallow in mire with sb.' is misleading; the real sense is to associate with evil people and participate in their wrongdoing. You use this to criticize someone who abandons their own moral standards to join corrupt or unethical company.
