检测 (jiǎn cè) — to test; to detect

Definition

检测 focuses on scientific/technical testing of products, substances, or the body (e.g. 安全检测, 身体检测). Unlike 察觉 or 发觉, which mean sensing something mentally, 检测 uses instruments or procedures to measure and analyze.
