Definition
没法儿 (méi fǎ r) is a colloquial expression meaning 'can't / there's no way', used in everyday speech when there is no method or possibility to do something. Its formal counterpart 无法 (wú fǎ) appears more often in writing and formal contexts. Unlike 不许 (bù xǔ, 'to forbid'), 没法儿 describes a lack of means, not external prohibition.
