Basic comparisons with 没有
Use 没有 to compare two things, saying one is not as [adjective] as the other. Place the adjective after 没有 B; do not negate the adjective.
Structure
Subj. + 没有 + Obj. + Adj.
The adjective directly follows the object, without any linking word.
Examples
- 这个地方没有上海好玩。Zhè ge dì fāng méi yǒu shàng hǎi hǎo wán.This place is not as fun as Shanghai.
- 火车没有飞机快。Huǒ chē méi yǒu fēi jī kuài.Trains are not as fast as airplanes.
- 他没有他弟弟聪明。Tā méi yǒu tā dì di cōng ming.He's not as smart as his younger brother.
- 拼音没有汉字难。Pīn yīn méi yǒu hàn zì nán.Pinyin is not as difficult as Chinese characters.
- 坐公交车没有坐地铁方便。Zuò gōng jiāo chē méi yǒu zuò dì tiě fāng biàn.Taking the bus is not as convenient as taking the metro.
