Expressing "as if" with 似乎

似乎 means "it seems" or "as if" and is used to express a tentative judgment or speculation. Place it before the verb or adjective phrase to indicate that the statement is an impression, not a confirmed fact.

Structure

Subj. + 似乎 + Verb/Adj. ...
Often used to express uncertainty or a tentative guess.
