Expressing "just" do it with 干脆

干脆 (gāncuì) means “just” or “simply” and is used when the speaker decides to take an action without hesitation, often because the situation makes the choice obvious. It appears before a verb phrase, but is informal and not used for polite requests.

Examples

  • 家里什么都没有,干脆出去吃吧。
    Jiā lǐ shén me dōu méi yǒu, gān cuì chū qù chī ba.
    There is nothing in the house, let's just go out to eat.
  • 苹果很贵,我干脆没买,只买了点香蕉。
    Píng guǒ hěn guì, wǒ gān cuì méi mǎi, zhī mǎi le diǎn xiāng jiāo.
    Apples are too expensive. I didn't buy them, and just bought some bananas.
  • 这里没什么好玩的,我们干脆回家吧。
    Zhè lǐ méi shén me hǎo wán de, wǒ men gān cuì huí jiā ba.
    It's no fun here. Let's just go home.
  • 既然你也喜欢这个沙发,我们干脆买回家吧。
    Jì rán nǐ yě xǐ huan zhè ge shā fā, wǒ men gān cuì mǎi huí jiā ba.
    Since you like this sofa too, let's just buy it and take it home.
  • 干脆听你的,我也没做什么攻略。
    Gān cuì tīng nǐ de, wǒ yě méi zuò shén me gōng lüè.
    I'll just listen to you. I haven't made any sort of plan anyway.
