Simultaneous tasks with 一边
The pattern 一边...一边... links two actions happening at the same time. Place 一边 before each verb to show the actions are simultaneous. Note that the shortened form 边 is more casual and less formal.

Examples
- 不要一边吃东西，一边说话。Bú yào yì biān chī dōng xī, yì biān shuō huà.Don't speak while eating.
- 我们一边走一边聊吧。Wǒ men yì biān zǒu yì biān liáo ba.Let's walk while we talk.
- 请你一边读一边写。Qǐng nǐ yì biān dú yì biān xiě.Please write as you read.
- 不要一边开车，一边打电话。Bú yào yì biān kāi chē, yì biān dǎ diàn huà.Don't talk on the phone while you drive.
- 她常常一边做饭，一边带孩子。Tā cháng cháng yì biān zuò fàn, yì biān dài hái zi.She often looks after the baby while cooking food.
