逾期 (yú qī) — to be overdue; to fail to meet a deadline

Definition

逾期 means a deadline has been missed (a payment, visa, book return). Unlike 过期, which focuses on something expiring or going stale, 逾期 emphasizes failing to act by the due date. Negate with 未 or 没有, never 不.
