恐怖 (kǒng bù) — aterrorizante, horrível, assustador; (atributivo) terrorista (ex.: 恐怖袭击, 恐怖分子)

Definition

恐怖 enfatiza o medo pesado e sombrio do terror — mais forte que 可怕 ('assustador') e reservado para o que é verdadeiramente aterrorizante ou, atributivamente, para 'terrorista' (恐怖袭击). 恐惧 nomeia o medo sentido internamente, não a coisa que o causa.
