Expressing "will" with 会

会 (huì) can be used to indicate that something will happen or someone will do something. Just place 会 before a verb to express a prediction or intention, and use 不会 (bù huì) to negate.

Structure

Subj. + 会 + Verb + Obj.

Examples

  • 明天你来吗?
    Míng tiān nǐ huì lái ma?
    Will you come tomorrow?
  • 明天下雨吗?
    Míng tiān huì xià yǔ ma?
    Will it rain tomorrow?
  • 我出去一下,很快回来。
    Wǒ chū qù yí xià, hěn kuài huì huí lái.
    I'm going out for a little while. I'll come back very soon.
  • 老板同意吗?
    Lǎo bǎn huì tóng yì ma?
    Will the boss agree?
  • 下班以后,我给你打电话。
    Xià bān yǐ hòu, wǒ huì gěi nǐ dǎ diàn huà.
    After getting off work, I will give you a call.
